FINAL BOSS FIESTA - Wi-Fi party mode
=====================================

Play Final Boss Fiesta with NO internet: a cabin, a camping trip, anywhere with a
Wi-Fi router. One computer runs the game and shows it on the TV; everyone's phone
is a controller. Nothing is sent anywhere outside your own Wi-Fi.

WHAT YOU NEED (once)
--------------------
Node.js, free, from https://nodejs.org (press the big "LTS" button and install it).
Do this BEFORE the trip, while you still have internet. Nothing else to install.

HOW TO PLAY
-----------
1. Unzip this folder anywhere.
2. Double-click the launcher:
     Windows: "Final Boss Fiesta.cmd"
     Mac / Linux: "final-boss-fiesta.command"
A window opens and prints two addresses, like:
TV (open on this computer): http://localhost:8787/tv/
     Phones (same Wi-Fi): http://192.168.1.20:8787/play/
3. Open the TV address in a web browser on this computer (put it on the TV
with an HDMI cable, or cast the browser tab).
4. Everyone joins the SAME Wi-Fi as this computer and scans the QR code on the
TV with their phone camera. Or type the phone address into the phone's browser.
5. Leave the launcher window open while you play. Close it to stop.

IF SOMETHING GOES WRONG
-----------------------
* A "firewall" or "allow access" box pops up the first time:
press ALLOW (tick "Private networks" on Windows). Without it, phones cannot connect.

* Phones cannot open the address / the QR does nothing:
    - Check every phone is on the same Wi-Fi as this computer (not mobile data).
    - This computer may have more than one network (a VPN, a virtual adapter) and
picked the wrong address. The window lists the others it found. Force one:
Windows: open a command prompt in this folder and type
                        set FIESTA_LAN_IP=192.168.1.20
                        node lan\server.mjs
        Mac / Linux: FIESTA_LAN_IP=192.168.1.20 ./final-boss-fiesta.command
    - Some guest/hotel Wi-Fi blocks devices from talking to each other. Use your
own router, or a phone hotspot.

* "Port 8787 is already in use":
the game is already running in another window. Close that one first.
(Or pick another port: set FIESTA_PORT=9000, then use :9000 in the addresses.)

* "Node.js is not installed": install it from https://nodejs.org, then try again.

* Double-clicking tv/index.html shows a blank page: that cannot work (browsers
block game code opened straight from a file). Always use the launcher.
