Your move, writer.
Somewhere out there is the kid who's about to get that bike, and the shape of your story lives entirely in the gap between here and there. Play it as quiet redemption: a father who missed too many mornings, wheeling this one small thing toward a porch he's not sure he's welcome on, snow muffling his nerve. Or tilt it sideways into mystery — whose bike is this, really, and why does the man keep checking over his shoulder like the street might answer back. There's comedy waiting too, if you want it: last-minute assembly gone wrong, a man walking a bike because he never actually learned to ride one himself, pride and deadline colliding. Or skip sentiment for something stranger — a bike with no owner, a man who isn't sure why he's carrying it, following an instinct he can't name toward a house he's never seen before.
