Letter pattern tricks for anagrams
Do not shuffle letters at random. Look for the common clusters first: TH, SH, CH, and the endings ING, ED, ER, LY and TION. Pull those out of the scrambled word and the rest often falls into place. Also check where the vowels can go. Most English words alternate vowels and consonants, and few start with two vowels.
Use the quote. The scrambled words are words from a real quote, so the words around them tell you what kind of word is missing. If the line reads "Small steps taken daily carry farther than great leaps taken never" and a scrambled word sits after "taken", you are looking for something that fits there.
