Word Games
Find the words, finish the quote!
Pick a game
Word games on Boss Feed are short daily puzzles built around words worth knowing: a word search whose hidden words finish a famous quote, a five-by-five mini crossword about art and literature, an anagram ladder and an emoji cryptogram. Each one takes two to five minutes, plays in any browser, and refreshes every morning. There's nothing to install and no account to make.
Which word game should I start with?
If you like a calm hunt, start with Wise Word Finder: find the hidden words and they drop into the day's quote. If you want something quicker, the mini crossword is five across and five down and most people finish it in a couple of minutes. Anagram Quotes suits people who enjoy rearranging letters, and Daily Decode is for anyone who likes cracking a code one letter at a time.
They all use the same quote bank, so a saying you half-remember from the word search can come back as a cryptogram a few weeks later. That's on purpose. The idea is to leave you with a line worth keeping, not just a score.
Printable and large print
Every word puzzle here has a paper version. The daily pack lays out today's puzzles on one sheet with the answers on a second page. The large print word search sets the same daily grid in big, high-contrast type, and the word searches for seniors page explains how we size them and why. For the holidays there are seasonal word searches for fall, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Make your own word puzzles
Teachers and puzzle makers can build their own with the free word search generator, cryptogram generator, anagram generator and criss-cross generator. They run in your browser and print with an answer key.
Common questions
Are the word games free?
Yes. Every word game on this page is free to play with no ads inside the puzzles, no app and no account. Signing in is optional and only saves your streak and puts your time on the daily leaderboard.
Do the puzzles change every day?
They do. A new word search, mini crossword, anagram ladder and cryptogram arrive every morning, and everyone gets the same puzzle on the same day, so you can compare times with a friend. Past days stay playable in the archive.
Can I play on my phone?
Yes. The puzzles are built for touch first: drag to select words, tap to place letters. They work the same on a phone, a tablet and a desktop browser.
Is there a word game for a group?
Boss's Bluff is the party one. Everyone writes a convincing fake answer about a book, painting or moment in history, then the room votes on which answer is real. It plays on one screen with phones as controllers.
