How the quote helps you search
Before you look at the letters, read the quote. Wise Word Finder shows a famous line with some words blanked out, and those blanks are the words hidden in the grid. Grammar tells you a lot. A blank after "the" is a noun or an adjective. A blank after "to" is probably a verb. Guess two or three likely words, then go looking for them.
Guessing first beats scanning at random. Once you have a candidate, you know its first letter and its length, so you can search for one letter and check its neighbors. Each word you find fills a blank, which narrows the guesses for the words that remain. That is why the last word is often the easiest.
Where the words hide
Words can run across, down and diagonally, and any of those can be written backwards. When you cannot find a word, check the backwards reads before you give up on it. Rare letters such as Q, Z, X and J are the best places to start, because there are only a few of them in the grid. Common endings like ING, ED and LY are also easy to spot.
Drag across a word to mark it, or tap its first and last letters. Every word in the grid belongs to the quote, so there are no decoy words to avoid.
Scoring and hints
Your time is the clock plus penalties. A wrong trace adds five seconds. A hint is far more expensive, so use it only when you are truly stuck. Your first solve of the day is the one that is recorded for the leaderboard, and any later play is practice.

Common questions
How is Wise Word Finder different from a normal word search?
Every word you find belongs to a quote. The grid's hidden words are the blanks in a real quotation, so finding them completes the day's saying. It rewards a bit of deduction: guess the quote and you know what to hunt for.
Are the words ever backwards or diagonal?
Yes. A word can run in any of eight directions: across, down, diagonally, and each of those backwards. If you cannot find a word you are sure is there, try reading the grid in reverse.
How many words do I need to find?
It varies by day, usually four to eight, with easier and harder days through the week. The puzzle tells you the target up front, and difficulty scales with grid size and word count.
Does a hint cost me anything?
Yes. A hint adds much more to your time than a wrong trace does, so it can cost you places on the leaderboard. Using no hints is the best way to rank.
