📖 Notes & analysis

Some days the body is a stranger you're getting reacquainted with — the ache in a shoulder that remembers old work, the scar that has its own biography, the reflection that surprises you before it settles into familiarity. Write toward that quiet negotiation between who you are and what you're carried in.

Or take the comedy route: the body as an unreliable narrator, the knee that predicts weather, the stomach that growls at the worst possible moment in a meeting. There's warmth in laughing at your own machinery.

Then there's gratitude, unfashionable but real — the hands that learned an instrument, the legs that got you up a mountain or just up the stairs on a hard day. Write about the body as a loyal, imperfect companion that showed up anyway.
