End your writing day by beginning the next day's session: At the end of each day's writing session, start writing the first few sentences or paragraphs of the next day's session. It'll help you avoid the dreaded "blank page syndrome" that afflicts writers.

📖 Notes & analysis

The trick works because momentum is easier to redirect than to create. Stopping mid-thought, rather than at a tidy conclusion, means tomorrow's task becomes finishing a sentence instead of facing empty space. You're borrowing today's warmed-up brain to solve tomorrow's coldest problem.

Say you're writing a scene where two characters argue in a kitchen. Instead of stopping once the argument ends, write the first line of the next scene too, even just "The next morning, she found the note on the counter." That single sentence gives tomorrow's session a door to walk through.

The caution: don't over-polish that opening fragment. Its job is to exist, not to be perfect. Spend more than a few minutes on it and you've just moved tomorrow's blank page problem into today.
