What is something that makes you almost irrationally angry?
Your move, writer.
What is something that makes you almost irrationally angry?
Your move, writer.
You could go for the small-stakes comedy of it — the specific fury of a plastic clamshell package that requires actual tools to open, or a shopping cart with one wheel that's decided to have a whole separate personality. That kind of writing works best when you lean into the absurd escalation, treating a minor annoyance like a mortal betrayal.
Or take it toward something quietly revealing — the anger less about the thing itself and more about what it exposes, like impatience with a certain kind of dishonesty, or the particular helplessness of watching someone waste their own potential. That angle lets the irritation double as a window into what you actually value.
There's also room for nostalgia laced with humor — the childhood grudge that never fully faded, like someone eating the last of something without asking, still simmering decades later.
