What superstitions do you believe in or follow? Do you do certain things to avoid bad luck, or make wishes in certain ways?
Your move, writer.
What superstitions do you believe in or follow? Do you do certain things to avoid bad luck, or make wishes in certain ways?
Your move, writer.
You could go the funny route, cataloging the small absurd rituals you'd defend to the death even while admitting you know they're nonsense — the specific step you avoid on stairs, the way you knock on wood twice instead of once because once never felt like enough. Or turn it inherited: whose voice is in your head when you toss salt over your shoulder or refuse to open an umbrella indoors, and what does it mean to keep believing something because someone you loved believed it first. There's also a quieter angle, about the space between superstition and hope — the wishes you still make on candles or dandelion seeds not because you expect magic, but because the wishing itself feels like tending something. Start wherever the pull is strongest, funny, sentimental, or somewhere in between.
