There's the workplace angle, where someone hands in a report so absurd — synergy metrics, a mascot renamed for legal reasons — that a coworker mutters the line and it becomes the office's new gold standard for nonsense, quoted forever after in meetings that have lost the plot. There's the family angle, where a kid's school essay about "what really happened" on vacation gets read aloud at dinner, and the line lands as affectionate teasing rather than insult, the whole table dissolving into the kind of laughter that only happens with people who know each other's exaggerations by heart. Or take it toward local news, a small-town headline so gloriously overblown — a goose feud, a mayor's beard controversy — that it becomes civic legend, retold at the diner counter until nobody remembers what was fact and what was embellishment, only that it was glorious.
