Or tilt it into a small coming-of-age moment: the first time you caught something and realized it was scared of you too, and had to decide whether to let it go. There's also a quieter angle about who taught you — a cousin, a grandparent, a kid down the street who knew which logs the frogs hid under — and what happened to that knowledge, whether you still remember how to hold a cricket without crushing it. Or skip nostalgia entirely and write about a kid today, phone in pocket, discovering fireflies for the first time like it's magic nobody warned them about.
