When you’re feeling sad or down, what are ways that you make yourself feel better?
Your move, writer.

Your move, writer.
There's the small-rituals angle — the specific cup of tea, the one song, the walk around the block that you've done so many times it works like a key in a lock. Write about the mechanics of your particular comfort, the weirdly specific details that would mean nothing to anyone else but mean everything to you.
Or go toward people — who you call, who shows up without being asked, the friend who doesn't try to fix anything and just sits with you. That's a chance to write gratitude sideways, through description instead of declaration.
There's also room for the slower discovery — admitting that some old coping trick stopped working, and what you replaced it with. That one has a nice arc built in: what used to help, what helps now, what that change says about who you've become.
