The trick here is that the riddle wants you picturing a creature, something with a pulse, torn violently into being and shaped into a monster. That image of birth and violence is doing double duty. "Mother's womb" isn't flesh and blood at all, it's the earth itself, the ore bed where iron waits before anyone touches it. "Beaten and burned" sounds like torture inflicted on a living thing, but it's really the forge, hammer and fire turning raw ore into tempered steel. And "blood thirsty killer" lands last, tricking you into thinking you've been tracking a person or beast the whole time, when really you've been describing the making of a weapon. The misdirection works because every phrase is technically true of both a creature and a sword, and your imagination grabs the scarier reading first.
