📖 Notes & analysis

Try a kitchen-table confession, where two siblings doing dishes after a funeral circle around the thing nobody's said yet, the dialogue full of pauses disguised as "pass the towel" and "careful, that one's hot," until the real sentence finally comes out sideways. Or go lighter and sillier: two strangers stuck in a broken elevator volleying increasingly absurd theories about why it stopped, building a tiny comic friendship purely through bickering and deflection. For something stranger, write two voices that might not be people at all — a lighthouse and a ship, a houseplant and the sun — using only their exchanged words to slowly reveal who's speaking and what's at stake. In every version, let tone of voice do the work description usually would — word choice and rhythm are your only set and lighting.
