Paula Deen's TX Rub
The workhorse brisket rub. Makes less than you think - double it.
Source Adapted from Paula Deen
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons chili powder
- 2 tablespoons salt (I add in some Lawry's Season Salt)
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon sugar (use brown or maple)
- 2 teaspoons dry mustard
- 1 crushed bay leaf
Method
- Combine everything and mix well.
- Coat the brisket generously before smoking.
Notes
- I sometimes double up on the rub - this doesn't make much.
