Hear the trumpets sing,
And hear the alarm bells ring!
For Bindas has arrived.

📖 About this haiku

There's a lovely little collision happening here: trumpets against alarm bells, celebration braided with warning, and both arriving in the same breath before anyone named gets to speak for themselves. That's the turn — not between two separate lines so much as inside the sound itself, where "sing" and "ring" chime together but mean opposite things. The mood lands somewhere between a parade and a fire drill, which is exactly the right register for an arrival that clearly precedes its own legend. Naming Bindas last is the real craft move — all that noise, then the reveal, so the sound becomes an effect of the name rather than a description of it. On a second read, you stop asking what the alarm is about and start wondering what kind of arrival needs both instruments at once. That unresolved hum is the whole joke, and the whole invitation.
