📖 Notes & analysis

There's the slow-burn version, where the skill took years and the real story is about patience — learning an instrument, a language, a craft passed down from someone who had to repeat themselves a hundred times before it clicked. Or flip it: the skill learned in a single afternoon, almost by accident, that ended up mattering more than anything you studied on purpose. There's room too for the skill nobody asked you to learn — tying a tie for someone else's wedding, fixing a leaky faucet because no one else would, figuring out how to say the hard thing out loud. Was it taught with patience, or did you have to fumble through it alone? Does the memory still smell like sawdust, or spilled coffee, or late-night porch light?
