Games like LinkedIn Zip, Queens and Tango

Bossfeed does not have a copy of LinkedIn's Zip, Queens or Tango. The nearest in feel are Color Gates, a daily sliding-block puzzle that rewards planning ahead, and Mini Lineup, a daily logic grid solved by deduction, and both are free in any browser with no app or sign-up.

How it works
In Color Gates you slide each block out through the gate of its color, planning the order. In Mini Lineup every clue is true, so you work out each answer by logic and never guess.
How long
A few minutes for Color Gates, about a minute for Mini Lineup. Morning Mysteries, its bigger sibling, takes a few minutes, up to about ten on the hardest days.
Cost
Free, in any browser. No app, no account. A new board every morning.

What the three LinkedIn games ask you to do

Zip asks you to draw one unbroken path through a grid, joining numbered dots in order and covering every square. Queens asks you to place one crown in each row, column and colored region so that no two crowns touch. Tango asks you to fill a grid with suns and moons, with no more than two of the same in a row, equal numbers in every row and column, and small clues between some squares. All three are quick daily puzzles with exactly one answer.

Is Zip Mate the same as Zip?

No. Zip Mate is our daily chess puzzle: you look at a position and find the move that checkmates. About half the days it is a mate in one, and the rest are a mate in two or three. It shares a name with Zip and nothing else, and it is not a path puzzle. If a chess puzzle is not what you were after, skip it.

What on Bossfeed is closest

  • Color Gates. The nearest in feel to Zip. You slide every block out through the gate of its color, and the order you choose matters, so it rewards planning ahead the way a path puzzle does. A new board each day, plus endless practice. The rules are different: there is no line to draw.
  • Mini Lineup. The nearest to Queens and Tango. It is a small grid, there is one right answer, and logic gets you there without guessing. It is a different puzzle, though: you decide whether each person helped or pilfered, rather than placing crowns or symbols.
  • Morning Mysteries. A longer logic puzzle in five styles, from a classic grid to a map and a lineup. Good once Mini Lineup feels easy. See how to solve a logic grid puzzle for a first walk-through.
  • The daily mini crossword. A 5 by 5 grid in a couple of minutes, if what you want is a short daily habit rather than a particular mechanic.

What we do not have

There is no path-drawing puzzle, no crown placement and no sun and moon grid here. If one of those is exactly what you want, LinkedIn's own versions are the real thing. What Bossfeed offers is the same kind of small, finishable daily puzzle: a fresh one each morning, over in a few minutes, free in a browser.

Common questions

Is there a free game exactly like LinkedIn Zip?

Not on Bossfeed. We have no path-drawing puzzle. The nearest in feel is Color Gates, a daily sliding-block puzzle that rewards planning ahead. Mini Lineup, a daily logic grid, is nearer to Queens and Tango.

Is Zip Mate related to LinkedIn Zip?

No. Zip Mate is a daily chess puzzle where you find the move that gives checkmate. The name is a coincidence.

Do I need a LinkedIn account to play these?

No account of any kind. Everything on Bossfeed plays in the browser. Signing in is optional. It puts your own name on the daily leaderboard and carries your streak to other devices.

Is there something like Queens?

Mini Lineup is the nearest: a small deduction grid with one answer and no guessing. It is not a crown-placement puzzle, and we do not claim it plays the same.

How often does a new puzzle come out?

Every morning. The daily puzzles reset at midnight Pacific time, and past ones stay playable in the archive.
