Remote party game

A remote party game is a party game that a group plays from different places, usually over a video call, with one person sharing the host screen.

The setup is simple. One person opens the game on a computer and shares that screen on the video call. Everyone else joins from their phone using the room code, which works from anywhere, and watches the shared screen on the call. Bluffing, drawing and trivia games suit this best, because the action is in the answers and not in fast reflexes.

A few cautions help. Video adds delay, so skip games that need split-second timing. Share the screen at a good quality so words are readable. And remember that phone and call are separate things, so anyone on a laptop for the call can use a phone for the controller.

Bossfeed's party games were designed for one room, but the room code works from anywhere, so the screen-share approach works.
