Trivia night
A trivia night is a social event in which teams compete to answer rounds of quiz questions read out by a host, usually in a pub, bar or community space, for points and bragging rights.
The format is simple. Teams of two to six sit together, a host reads questions across themed rounds such as history, music, film and geography, teams write down their answers, and the host marks them at the end of each round. The pub quiz tradition is especially strong in the United Kingdom and Ireland, and trivia nights now run at home, in offices and over video calls too.
Running one at home takes little: a list of questions, a way to keep score and someone willing to host. A shared-screen game can handle the reading and scoring for you. Mixed rounds work best, because a team of six rarely knows art, sport and science equally well, and a picture round or a bluffing round breaks up the question-and-answer rhythm.
